I stepped on a snake yesterday. It was just a garter, and unlike spiders (which are pure evil), I do actually believe that they are more afraid of me than I am of them. I still freaked the hell out when it happened, though.

Going through the Arboretum one summer, I accidentally ran close enough to a small green garter snake, and he got wrapped around the hub of my front caster. I managed to get him untangled, and he scurried into the bushes as fast as he could. Poor little snek.

Well we had to chase the snake down and then we skinned it and cooked it. (Rattle Snake.)
